Why simple rules

- a couple of good reasons:

1) When rules are complicated - even "good-will" decisions could be wrong
2) Too many don't know the rules - and the complexity prevents many to try
3) Referees and people with a good knowlegde are often unsure

5) Complicated rules enlarges potential conflicts between players during play and between members in the clubhouse
6) Complicated rules results in the need of extensive training of referees

7) The need of multiple referees in professional tournaments - because even professionel players dont take one decision without consulting a referee..
8) Complicated rules scares both young players and many older players too - and results in a less attractive sport, people leaving the clubs - and many for not entering!
9) Easier (and comprehensive) rules will speed up play
10) Simple rules is more likely to be based on Good intent .. instead of mm-rules and the understanding of §§§
11) The more complicated - the more certain that players - even in a tournament - dont play "by the same rules"..
12) Some of the rules today are not logical
